I started food journaling again today. Writing down everything you eat is one of the best ways to stay accountable to healthy, clean eating and help discourage over eating. Sometimes we all get off track and we need tools to help us get back in line. I personally go for months where I don't eat dairy (It makes me feel awful, and it's been linked with Cancer), and my reduce my animal product consumption and increase my intake of fruits and vegetables, and then before I know it...I'm DRIVING to get fried chicken and french fries. If left unchecked, that can become more habit than occasional indulgence. And then I can't fit into my jeans (I know, no one's wearing jeans anymore, but I still like them)!
If you're being active everyday and eating healthy but still not losing weight, you need to take a good look at what you're eating and how much you're eating. Are you eating more vegetables than meat and dairy? Are you limiting your alcohol and sugar intake? Are you eating too much? Are you eating too little? Not eating enough is a sure fired way to kick your body into starvation mode, which makes your body hold on to fat. The only way to truly answer these questions is to KNOW what you're putting into your body on a daily basis. You don't have to do it for the rest of your life, but doing for a few weeks or a couple of months might be just what you need to help create healthy habits that will last when you find delicious, healthy food options that you enjoy! Happy Journaling!
